The police come to pay a visit to 2W.

On Tuesday, we were lucky enough to be visited by two Police Community Support Officers. They came to talk to Year 2 about the varied job they do, how to keep safe and then a presentation about knife awareness.
All of the class were really interested in their presentations and had lots of questions to ask, which were answered honestly, openly and in such a reassuring way that it made the children feel safe and developed their understanding of how to deal with different situations.
We would like to thank the two officers for coming to visit us.

It’s all about the detail for 2W.

The class have been using magnifying glasses and digital microscopes via the interactive whiteboard to look closely at everyday objects and the materials they are made of.
They have been learning to look very closely at a small area of an object to see shapes and patterns such as the lines in metal, even though to the eye it looks completely smooth.
The class have all really enjoyed this practical work and hopefully learnt the difference between seeing an object and really looking!
