Over this half term, we have been learning all about the program ScratchJr on the iPad. We have learnt how to insert commands like left, right, forwards, backwards, repeat, spin, jump and lots more. We also created our own projects based on this terms topic ‘The Great Outdoors’ and took photos of our outdoor models to include them into our programming. We had lots of fun creating them and sharing them with the class.

2W have had a very busy week exploring the Great Outdoors in lots of ways. We have been using maps to explore our immediate area and drawn on features of the locality. We have been pond dipping with the fantastic Wildlife-man, finding over 26 species. We then had a super trip to Central Library to look at maps and photographs from the past which was so interesting. I have to say that the boys behaviour has been excellent this week, with all of these activities, so well done.
As part of our topic on The Great Outdoors, 2W are exploring how we use maps and learning to draw maps. This week, we were labelling a basic map of the school and then created a key to show the different parts of the building. Good observational skills were required and everyone very much enjoyed taking part in a geographical walkabout.
