This week, 2W are focusing on writing instructions in Literacy. We have been following instructions using just pictures or words, exploring bossy words or verbs, sorting them into the right order and looking at the features of instructions.
As you can see, we have been following a recipe today and made some delicious mince pies and then tomorrow we will be writing up the instructions or recipe, using all the formal written elements you need when writing this genre.
Most importantly, we really enjoyed eating them-delicious!

#BeAHero for Children in Need

Is it a bird? Is it a plane? NO! It’s 2W!

It’s Children in Need and the boys have had a ‘super’ day dressed as their favourite superhero to help raise money. What fantastic costumes boys!

For the next two weeks, 2W will be learning how to follow and write instructions. They will be following instructions using words and/or pictures, exploring different ways of sequencing instructions and using the grammatically correct types of words to make them clear to read.
We started off this unit of work by taking part in a really fun activity, making a den for Nutty and as you can see the class had a great time. This was used as a Speaking and Listening exercise as once it was made, the boys then had to tell the rest of the class how they made it and what materials they used. They all worked really hard, Nutty was very pleased, well done!
